West Coast Wilderness Railway [abt.]

The West Coast Wilderness Railway has been a tourism venture, re-opening the old mining line that was unique in using a rack system to combat 1 in 17 grades. Also the two steam locos nos 1 and 3 according to the official website are probalbly the oldest fully restored working locomotives in the world. Indeed No 1 ''Mt. Lyell'' was at the original railways opening back in March 1897. The line is about 35kilometres long running from Queenstown to Regatta Point [ Strahan].
